I had the honor of going to my first barcamp on Wednesday, September 8th 2009. This BarCamp was geared towards how to utilize technology in the real estate market. We covered many topics including the Seattle real estate market, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Blogging, video blogging (something I’m excited to try) and social networking. It was extremely educational and also a great way to meet other professionals in the area. I specifically wanted to meet Mary Miller and Diane Tuman from Zillow who have been gracious enough to help me with my Zillow blog editing as well as Rhonda Porter who writes for Rain City Guide as well as her own blog.
I also got a chance to meet many others from the Zillow team including Nate Moch and David Gibbons.

Keane, it was so nice to meet you at RE Barcamp. You really added great value to the mortgage professional’s session that I attended with you. Hopefully I’ll see you at the RE Barcamp coming up on October 6th in Bellevue (not too far from your office).
Good info, I’m looking forward to the Bellevue RE Bar. Seems that most of the really forward-thinking RE professionals in the area are attending these events.
