This is a great story that I want to share.
I’ve been an active member in Zillow for a little while. I’ve used the site for a long time but have only recently started contributing to their new features, which allows me to answer clients questions, help out consumers and give loan quotes.
While searching for local VA Loan websites, I found a post from a veteran who was asking about how to post a loan request on Zillow where professionals can give anonymous quotes for his loan scenario.
Since I’ve focused on VA loans for a while, I jumped into the forum and gave some advice. I then found that the client lived in Auburn, WA which is near my hometown of Kent. I then looked for his loan request and shot over a quote.
Soon enough, the client and I were conversing via e-mail about the loan quote and ultimately, I ended up earning his business today. However, that’s not was so special.
This veteran is in Iraq. He used Zillow to find a local lender, which ultimately got him in contact with me. After talking via Yahoo! Messenger, we found out we graduated only one year apart in the same school district! We even know some mutual acquaintenances/friends.
This just reminds me of how amazing the internet is and where technology is going.
